Counseling for Infertility Challenges in California
Doing It Your Way
You never imagined that bringing a baby home would be this difficult
Another Failed Attempt
You have been trying to get pregnant for a while without success. You are feeling confused, overwhelmed, and helpless. Your sadness is growing, and you feel "stuck." You find yourself avoiding the company of others, and your self-confidence is diminishing. All you can think of is timing sex and getting pregnant. Nothing else in your life matters right now more than a BABY.
You Did Everything "Right"
You got married, established a career, or waited for the right time to have a baby. Now you are ready to get pregnant, but you're finding that your body isn't responding. You thought pregnancy would be simple and easy to achieve. You feel like life is playing a "trick" on you and that your body is betraying you. You feel heartbroken and are in disbelief that this is happening to you. You keep asking yourself, "Why me?" "Did I wait too long?" "Am I being punished for something in my past?" "Am I not deserving of a baby?"
You Feel Lost
On the outside, you are strong and confident, but inside, you are ridden with doubts and regrets. You have people around you, but you feel alone. You need someone to hold you, to listen to you, and to guide you. The journey of In Vitro fertilization (IVF) is overwhelming, and you don't know where to begin. The word “infertile” floods your mind. You can't see your life without children. You can't handle it alone anymore.
You Feel Defeated
The “two-week waiting period” is emotionally and physically excruciating. You find yourself lying in bed crying and cradling yourself. You are feeling demoralized. You are not sure you have the willpower to try again, talk to more fertility specialists, or take more drastic steps such as egg/sperm donation or surrogacy. You need someone to help you explore more deeply what you want, discover what you are willing to do or not do, and build back up the resilience you need to continue trotting through this journey. You just want to bring a baby home!
You Lost Your Patience
You have tried Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART) procedures, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVF), and/or frozen embryo transfers, but with no success. Every pregnancy attempt brings high hopes, and then the crushing feelings of defeat set in. Your infertility journey becomes unbearable and starts to impact your everyday life and mental health. The feelings of sadness keep flowing and you are no longer looking forward to having more discussions with reproductive specialists.
You are in disbelief that this is happening to you.
Studies show that thirty percent of infertile women meet the criteria for depression and/or anxiety and report a decreased quality of life and emotional stresses associated with loss of fertility and fertility treatments. No woman struggling with the infertility risk should walk this journey alone and face the debilitating symptoms associated with this condition without the help of an infertility counselor.
Let me help you! We can overcome the distress caused by your challenging journey and find hope again. In our work together, I will help you share your pain, explore your beliefs, and define the OUTCOMES you desire.
Do you yearn to birth your baby, are you willing to endure the treatment interventions, are you happy with adopting or are you ready to live a life without children? I will help you define these outcomes because they will be the FUEL you'll need to push through this journey towards personal health.
I am a mental health professional who can offer you unconditional support, consistency, and personalized therapeutic support. In the end, you will learn to believe in yourself, to lean on others, and to make peace with your fertility journey.

Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant. Primary infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant after a year of trying to conceive up to age 35 and 6 months for those above age 35. Secondary infertility refers to couples who have been able to get pregnant at least once but are now unable to get pregnant. A fertility challenge is defined as an obstacle.
